About TechConfidence™

I received my first computer, a TRS-80 Color Computer from Radio Shack, when I was eight years old. Ever since, I’ve been hooked on learning about, and sharing with others, the many ways that people can use computers, software, handheld devices, websites, and other personal technology to improve their lives.

This interest has defined my career. I have worked as a computer trainer, a tech support specialist, a network administrator, a tech support instructor, and a technology director. I now manage StopBadware.org, a project of the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. I also provide personal technology consulting.

I started TechConfidence™ as a way to help me share what I have learned with the broadest possible audience and also to allow my readers to share their knowledge with me and with each other. I hope you enjoy the site! Please let me know how I can make it better by e-mailing me at maxim@techconfidence.com.

Unless otherwise noted, everything I write on this site is my own opinion and is not representative of the work of StopBadware.org or the Berkman Center.
